                                    RULES FOR ROBOTICS EVENT -:
                              “KULACHI BASKETBALL LEAGUE (KBL)”

            Arena:
·         Dimension of the floor: 8ft. by 8ft.  
·         Height of the floor boundary: 1ft.
·         2 baskets at the 2 opposite corners of the arena.
·         Balls to be spread over the arena.


                                                                                                                                
   
    
    Robot:   
·         Maximum Size:  18inches. By 18inches.
·         Allowed Kits: 
1.      TETRIX
2.      LEGO ( Mindstorm Only )
3.      VEX
NOTE : LEGO kit is allowed.
·         Maximum number of DC Motors = 6
·         Maximum numbers of Servos = 4

      Game Rules:

                  ELIMINATION ROUND:

·        The game starts with The Autonomous Period of 30secs.in which the teams will be provided with 2 balls. The robot has to follow a black line, reach the basket and drop the balls into it.
(Drivers will not be allowed to pick up their gamepads (controllers) in this period.)
(Balls will be released before the Autonomous Period)
·     After the completion of Autonomous Matches, the top 10 teams with the maximum points will be selected for the successive rounds.






SEMI-FINALS and FINAL ROUND:

1. Semifinal round shall be based on "Autonomous " and  “The  Driver Control”.                                                                Match will start with a 30s. Autonomous period ( explained above ) (optional) and then 1min and 30s Driver Control Period.
2. Total Time for each match will be 2min. Two teams per match shall compete with each other. The 2 drivers from each team shall control the robot using controllers.
3. The balls released at the beginning of the match will now have to be collected by the robots and put into their respective baskets.
4.    Top 5 teams with maximum score shall compete in the Final round.
     
  Scoring Rules:
   
              Autonomous Period -:

·         Following the black line and reaching the respective box: 5 points
·         Dropping the balls into the box : 5 points

Driver Control Period -:

·         Putting the respective ball in the respective box: 2 points (each ball)

Penalties:

·         Damaging the arena in any way :  -3 points
·         Putting opposite team’s ball in your box:
1.      1 ball -> no penalty
2.      2 balls -> no penalty
3.      3 balls -> -2 points

International Girls in ICT Day 2015

International Girls in ICT Day, 2015- Gaming and Programming with Alice Workshop for Girls




REPORT


Kulachi Hansraj Model School celebrated International Girls in ICT Day, 2015 in collaborationwith Oracle Academy.

Workshop: "Gaming and Programming with Alice"


Mode: Realtime, virtual ( Platform-Cisco WebEx)


Date: 23rd April, 2015


Time: 9:15 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.


No. Of Girls Participated: 50


Student Prerequisite: Girls from class IX-X, who are familiar working on Alice 3 (were given training prior to the session).


Teacher Cordinator: Ms. Nita Arora, Ms. Archika Bhatia


AIM:


  • Encourage girls to take up ICT as a career.
  • Providing an insight tnto career options in the field of ICT.
  • Empowering them to think big and aim high.
  • Providing Hands-on to the programming concepts and thus developing interest in programming and gaming in a fun way.

The PROGRAM:

Oracle targeted to reach as many girls across India through hands-on program entitled " Gaming and Programming with Alice". The workshop was real time on a virtual platform (Cisco WebEx). The virtual instructor (Oracle Academy staff) and the enthusiastic classroom teacher in the computer lab, across multiple locations worked together to facilitate a fun workshop on Alice. Girls were engaged in a positive learning environment. Women leaders,
1. Laakshmi Venkatakrishnan - Director Software Development, SOA (Fusion Middleware)
2. Sujata Madhav Chandran - Principal Sales Consultant, Oracle India
interacted with the Girls on the ocassion. They highlighted their journey of growth and shared the success mantras. They also discussed various career options in ICT. Time was designated to answer few questions from Girls.

* International Girls in ICT Day is celebrated on the 4th Thursday of April each year.

Register yourself in the form given below  to participate

RULES:

1. Develop an app to be run on Android device, on the topic of your choice from any one of the following sites
  • www.appgeyser.com
  • www.infinitemonkeys.mobi
2. Save the app file with the name as explained: if your name is Rohan Kapoor of class 7 J then the file name should be 7JROHANKAPOOR.APK

3. Send the file as an attachment to the following e-mail-id: tech4us.khms@gmail.com. The subject of the mail should be as explained:  if your name is Rohan Kapoor of class 7 J then the subject should be 7J-ROHAN-KAPOOR.APK

Do’s and Don’ts
  1.  You have to use either of the two tools given. No other tool is allowed.
  2. You have to customize your own icon for the App. Pictures from Google are not acceptable.
  3. While creating the app, carefully choose the option of creating App for Android device.
